Trump praises Putin over US sanctions – a move that puts him at odds with GOP
What will applauding the Russian president’s response to Barack Obama’s expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats mean when Trump takes office?
After the Obama administration’s tough new sanctions against Russia put the president-elect in a vulnerable political position at home, in his own party and abroad, Donald Trump chose to respond in familiar fashion – with praise for Vladimir Putin.
The president-elect has repeatedly spoken approvingly of Putin and called for closer relations with Russia. On Friday, he used Twitter to applaud Putin’s restrained response to the expulsion by the US of 35 diplomats and the closure of two Russian compounds.

It should be a national scandal that Trump's regime are deliberately attempting to embarrass the sitting POTUS with this.
The Reds are no longer under the bed they're moving in on the White House itself.

Any way he goes, Trump takes a stumble. He will be unable to put things back together, as he will be opposed by his own party in the Senate.
Senators McCain and Sessions hate the Russians. McCain chairs the Armed Services Committee. Sessions is the ranking Republican member on the Senate Budget Committee. Trump is going to get a lesson in horse-trading politics very quickly.

EVEN THOUGH senior Repub's have been working hard in recent weeks to pull the Party back together and reform it ready for the Inauguration and onwards, li'l ol' Dumpster the Frumpster has apparently been trying just as hard to form a permanent schism within the US Conservatives...
Seems a permanent divide is coming within the GOP, with maybe the Libertarians being the bigger winners, if the traditionalists flee the crumbling Republican Party, and look to form a new centre-right bloc ???

My, so it's the Republican Party who turned out to be Communist Russian Lovers lol. And to think they have been accusing the LW of that.

Yes...quite an embarrassment for them. The irony is that the strongest critics for Trump's love affair with Putin come from Republicans who didn't get the memo. A tear in the fabric much?

Years ago, Putin set the stage for this with his widely publicized anti-gay measures. I distinctly remember that ordinary Republicans really started to like him after that.
How fortunate for Putin that instead of a choice between Hillary Clinton, who Putin detests, and someone from the anti-Russia Republican establishment leadership, there emerged an option who fired up the bigot vote (despite no prior reputation for bigotry) and was really pro-Russia to boot!

I agree with all the themes you raise. But pussy-grabber has an immense hamaritia in that he is unaware and incurious. Thin-skinned, and impulsive...his tragic flaw will arise sooner rather than later.
Like a ship without a rudder, he's bound to go bump into something. The world has an inevitable way of outwitting the oblivious.

Ha ha, and all of a sudden those that branded us commies turn out to be commie lovers. You couldn't make this up.

So are the Russians right wing or left wing? I'm never quite sure.

What were Stalin and Hitler? They were both authoritarian dictators. I think Putin is from the same mold.
If Trump had any talent, he might be as well. But, watch has he creeps into Putin's lap...see what happens. Any parallels there? Perhaps Hitler and Mussolini?
