US exodus?
It’s not just Canada who could be preparing for a deluge of Americans. Google Trends shows the searches “Move to Australia” and “Move to New Zealand” have spiked over the past few hours.
For Australia, most inquiries are coming from Colorado, Kentucky, Tennessee, Washington and Virginia. For New Zealand, most searches are originating in Oregon, Colorado, Washington, Missouri and Virginia.
Clearly, there’s a bit of a theme here. Since Colorado, Washington and Virginia all popped up twice, and they all voted for Hillary Clinton, we’re guessing those plotting their escape are Democrats.
Ms Clinton supporters will probably fit in well in Australia. She proposed more thorough background checks for gun owners; we haven’t had a mass-shooting since 1996. She tried to smash through the glass ceiling as the first female presidential candidate; we’ve had a female prime minister who arguably delivered one of the best feminist speeches in modern history. Ms Clinton believes in protecting vulnerable members of society; we have Medicare and paid parental leave.
Realistically, it’s easy for Americans to come to Australia. They can apply online for an Electronic Travel Authority, which allows multiple entries to Australia over 12 months, granting entry for three months at a time.
If they’re aged between 18 and 30, they can apply for a Working Holiday visa. According to the border.gov.au website, there are also plenty of options if they have “skills Australia needs” or are interested in “regional employment”.

Re: US exodus?
I KNOW Americans, Brits, Canadians and Kiwis who have all happily settled over here in Oz...
While I have also known Aussies who have travelled the other way over to the USA, Canada and Britain over the years, only a couple decided to stay over there permanently..
And I heard of one New Zealander I was at school with here, apparently shifted back home in the 1980s.
Americans moving down here should be able to find places where they will feel right at home, doubly so if they are bringing a business/self employment with them...

Re: US exodus?
The Independent reports that some generous Canadians are now offering these like-minded states an opportunity to ditch Mr Trump’s America and secede to the Justin Trudeau-led Canada.
Some Americans even started thinking of new names to call the newly created province.
“Washorefornia. Or Calorington. We’re fine with either. Just please take us. Pretty please?” Douglas Cole wrote.
LOL Juston got it wrong on the US vote though

Hmmm
If the Hill Shepherds took over
