Pickled okra triggers Austin bomb scare
1:15 p.m. update: A jar of pickled okra was the culprit.
Police determined a suspicious package was nothing more than a bag containing a jar of the okra about two hours after police received a report of a suspicious package that triggered the response of Austin police's bomb squad and closed 10th Street near Interstate 35, Austin police said.
The road is now open.
Earlier: A suspicious package downtown prompted a response from Austin police's bomb squad on Monday.
The report came in at 10:57 a.m. in the 600 block of East 10th Street. It has led police to shut down 10th Street near the Interstate 35 frontage road while the bomb squad investigates.

That was another of my "concorde" jokes. The ones that whoosh over people's heads like a supersonic jet.
