I doubt the Giants will get past the Cubs, but I hope they do -- because I also hope the Rangers make the Series and I want another crack at you guys

Well, they won against the NYC team by a score of 3 - 0. The series with the Chicago team starts I believe on the weekend.
The SF Giants are a perennial powerhouse...they last won the World Series in 2014, their third World Series appearance in five years, having won in 2010 and 2012, They seem to be able to win it every two years...with any luck, this year again. But...

Rounders is similar, but not exactly the same.
Baseball is not just the US. They have had teams in Canada as well, though at present only in Montreal.

In a real sense it is a true World Series, in that the best players from all around the world play Major League Baseball. I'm sure rounders looks nothing like what goes on in the MLB.
Re: Giants Win!!
Close first game in the Cubby series, but Giants lost.

Re: Giants Win!!
Isn't it called the World Series because that's what it was hoped to become with countries like Canada, Australia and Britain becoming involved. Its quite popular in Britain I think don't know about Australia.

Re: Giants Win!!
Some have argued that the world series name stemmed from the name of a popular newspaper, The New York World, which later morphed into the New York World-Telegram. However, "[w]hen the World Series between the National and American leagues began in 1903, the owners borrowed the name from the world championship series held in the 1880s between the National League and the American Association." http://www.snopes.com/business/names/worldseries.asp
It seems that when the rivalry began in the 1860's, the world consisted of Boston to Baltimore, west only to Chicago.

Anyway, the Rangers got swept out by the Canadians, so what the fuck -- go Giants. I guess.

I saw. The Texas team was the class of the AL west...WTF? Boston lost too. Strange year.
Giants down 3-2 in the 8th. Belt, Posey and Pence due up in the bottom of the 8th.
Three runs in bottom of the 8th. Giants take lead. Crawford steals; takes third on overthrow. Chapman walks Panic, and is chased. Two on the corners, one out. Panic steals 2nd.
Then Bryant ties it with a homer.
I'm going to bed.
