Humans share DNA with many other species, chimpanzees and humans share 98% of the same DNA. Humans and mushrooms share 67% of the same DNA.

Instead of doing all these genetic tests and research and showing them various locations of their ancestors all over the globe, cut to the chase and show them all just ONE location in Ethiopia, the ultimate place of origin of H. Sapiens - apparently.

I saw a documentary one time that took a bunch of people from New York City, one of the most ethnically diverse places in the world, and tracked their ancestry all the way back to Africa whether white, black, semitic, Asian, Hispanic, whatever. It was pretty cool:

And one who's dna is a combination of a weasel and a dung beetle... although luckily for the weasel and dung beetle... their own separate individual dna sequences mean they are each much more noble species than the aforementioned creature...

AN AUSTRALIAN television network (I think it was SBS..) repeated that same exercise with a handful of Aussies a few months ago, with a couple of academics from a Sydney uni' following their DNA markers back through their ancestry through locales like Britain, various parts of Europe, the Middle East and India, and eventually to its origins in deepest, darkest Africa..

And the television crews actually took those subjects back through those countries, over a few weeks.
