Britain from above: Rescue the past.
This is a really good website for people who are interested in old pictures of what our country looked like from the air from around the early 1900s omwards. Use the advanced search function and it brings up a map which you can zoom in on and then click search and you get pictures from that region. You may even see what it was like where you were brought up.

I've put in a few searches and not getting any results, perhaps I'm doing it wrong, will have a go again later.

The "...from above" series has been wildly popular, some of them turned into coffee table books.
Pierre Salinger had a book, Above Paris, which was quite popular.
