Re: Should She Get Some?
All assets go into the pot on divorce in England, no matter where they came from. Then the issue of "needs" comes up. If he needs that money to recover or live with what happened, he will be awarded most or all of it. If he's not using it and he's just letting it sit there, the court may well decide he doesn't need it and will award at least some of it to his wife.

Re: Should She Get Some?
This guy has admitted that he doesn't use the money and that he'll give it to charity. He stands a good chance of losing some of it. He doesn't want or need the money himself so what defence does he have? Emotional reasons for not wanting to hand over assets don't usually count for much in settlements.Major wrote:Interesting reply Miss Ragga.
Divorce settlement can be messy, at the moment I know of 2 which involve quite a few quid.
One of the wives with one child sharing almost amicable custody is 'claiming' for a new washing machine and spin dryer A YEAR for the CHILDS laundry as he gets so dirty playing, unbelievable.
Some of these judges are misguided IMHO if they award such.
In fact, I wonder if he's on benefits. If so, he should have declared the award.

Re: Should She Get Some?
Legally she will probably get half. Morally I don't think she should have even attempted to get her hands on a penny of it.
