Is there nothing John Cena Can't do?

HE’S known for busting some pretty impressive moves in the wrestling ring, but John Cena has just stunned his fans by delivering a two and a half minute speech in Mandarin.

The many-times world champion first demonstrated his nascent Mandarin skills during a 2013 press conference in which he gave a 12-second shout out to his Chinese fans.

But at a WWE press event in Shanghai yesterday, Cena surprised and impressed fans by speaking in Mandarin for around two and a half minutes.

Mandarin has been judged as one of the hardest languages for an English speaker to pick up — rated at the same difficulty level as Japense, Korean and Arabic.

One Reddit user said Cena had been learning Mandarin through the WWE to help boost the franchise’s presence in China.

A Mandarin speaker who viewed the clip for News Corp said: “He’s pretty good but his accent is all over the place.”

Cena joins a small but select group of famous westerners who have demonstrated some proficiency in Mandarin.
