Lord Jonathan Sacks: On national Identity, Multiculturalism and anti-Semitism
The former Chief Rabbi, Lord Jonathan Sacks, is the winner of this year's Templeton Prize. For decades he has been lecturing and writing on themes of faith, tolerance and peace. Evan Davis began by asking him a simple question - does religion cause war?

Re: Lord Jonathan Sacks: On national Identity, Multiculturalism and anti-Semitism
I love his point on a collective identity is a home and that a Multiculturalism society is a hotel, which promotes the denial of a shared identity and can be destructive. Dependent on what multicultures you have within your society. Which is exactly what has happened in Europe, because we have allowed many people to come to Europe that hold many intolerant and prejudiced beliefs. Like I said last night that Eddie was on the right track but deifined incorrectly that we are all a little racist. What we are is all a little prejudiced and intolerant to certain degrees. Most of us here would agree we are prejudiced and intolerant against those who commit child abuse, but the reality is we are very tolerant.
Europeans over the last few decades. Have been the most tolerant and why they have the most progressive laws, but that toleration has limits, when you allow in alongside Muslims, those who are Islamists, that have no wish to integrate into society. The fact is there are many Islamists now within Europe, followers of the Muslim Brotherhood or Wahhabism etc. With one intended goal. Global Islamic domination. This is why when Stardesk says he does not want Muslims living where he lives, is because he knows that a large percentage of them will hold many intolerant and prejudice views that conflict with the well being and equality of others. That does not mean he is racist or bigoted, but rightly concerned how we are damaging and dividing a society with a group within a group of Muslims that hold backward prejudiced intolerant beliefs.
Sadly the regressives on here show the worst double standards. They will rightly want you to be intolerant of racism, homophobia, sexism etc towards people who are white European that hold these beliefs, but when it comes to other ethnic groups and espcially Islamists. They show the worst hypocrisy and start defending those with as much intolerant and hateful beliefs as the Far Right. Look at the likes of some on here who do nothing but castigate Republicans, as if they all hold neo-Conservative Christian beliefs. They are happy to do that because they do this without guilt, as they are attacking people who are classed as white, but steer away from doing the same if the person though is not "white European".
You then have to rightly ask if they are indeed racist these hypocriters, as they treat other ethnic groups or those with prejudiced and intolerant religious beliefs, as if they are not at fault, as if they are inferior. As how else can they explain constantly defending of those who are prejudiced and intolerant from different ethnic groups. You see the indoctrination of the regressive mind starts young, where they are made to believe in "white guilt". They end up making racism far worse by not treating people as equal but seperate and inferior. The west never changed by people defending bad beliefs in Christianity but fundementally challenging them. Yet at every turn we see the regressive defend those who are indoctrinated with a sexist belief they should cover up, neglected that many are forced to wear this sexist form of control. The regressive mind goes into malfunction mode and fails to see that defending a belief where many are forced to wear is defending the belief itself.
Its wrong and should never be defended and of those who do "claim" to choose to wear this are in the vast majority those who hold intolerant and prejudiced beliefs more so than any others towards women, homosexuals, religious minorities etc.
Multiculturalism works in low numbers over time as it did before the mass influx and it works when you have people that have similar cultures or cultures that do not conflict with the equality and well being of others. Sadly though with the likes of Wahhabism and the Muslim Brotherhood, they are actively teaching against harmony in western societies and the regressives are silent on this, as they dare not speak out against such groups, wrongly fearing they will be labelled racists.
No they already have a label
Its called Regressives, who do not class either as liberals or left, who show the worst double standards possible
