Odd how you could over looked the warnings about 'distressing & graphic violence', but you locked onto the ratio of immigrants and put that out there ...you are quite the oddity Mr. Tommykins!

Inside Wandsworth Prison: BBC finds prisoners in crisis

The BBC has been given exclusive access inside Wandsworth Prison for one week.
The first report by correspondent Ed Thomas, cameraman Tony Dolce and producer Noel Titheradge, revealed drug abuse, violence, corruption and overcrowding.
In their second report, they examine the state of mental health, with rates of self-harming and suicide increasing by a quarter on last year.
Some may find this video distressing

But this seems 'proof positive', that this regions is in dire need of more money making penitentiaries; perhaps you could be Pro-Active/Humanitarian about this horrid issue and start a movement?

better still DEPORT ALL the foreign prisoners....without exception.....

I haven't overlooked anything... prisons are full of violent offenders... the fact you seem surprised by this shows that you are the odd one here...

OOPSIE, guess you neglected to watch your entire video ...how 'NORMAL' for you to do that - can't read an entire article/understand what is typed in them and then read/hear/view the entire documentary that you've supplied!

And you're claiming 'shock' at the numbers of foreigners in your penal system?
Your own 'Chump-Trump' mentality would have every immigrant allowed upon your scared soil the only humans doing those criminal activity {according to your posts}, so you either post BS just to further a discussion and your POV can't be trusted or you don't have a firm grasp of exactly HOW YOU FEEL about ANYTHING IMPORTANT

Amazing, for you to assume that this camera crew would spend a week inside and only give you a 4minute tape ...you might have to scroll down and look at some of the other videos on your main LINK PAGE!  Or Not; it appears that you function in a quirky segmented world, and reality doesn't apply there.

Rather shocking to see the open use of the 'WEED' and the 'WHITE GUY' explaining how as the 'newbie' he's able to obtain: "heroin/weed/cocaine - any drug you'd want" and it's being smuggled in by the British hired guards!

I have been watching The Jail 60 days in. Have you seen it? They sent volunteers into a US prison to dry and get a grip on all the drugs and violence and weed out (if you forgive the term) all the corrupt guards bringing in contraband.

Most interesting.

Not seen that particular documentary miffs... but I have seen some others... and all showed very shocking stuff!!!

They do. 
They show that prison doesn't work. 
They show that recidivism is soaring 
They show that the penal system needs money spent on it and a massive overhaul.

When you allow prisoners to behave the same on the inside as the did on the outside to wind up there in the first place... they will just continue to behave the same way when they are released too!

Keep them all separated from each other would be a good start...

Build more prisons...

But in the short term... restrict interaction in general population... remove problem items... remove problem inmates first to newly built facilities...

Why are inmates allowed free access to razors when supervised shaving with electric shavers could be enforced?

Why are inmates allowed access to kettles when they can boil up water to use to throw over other staff or inmates?

Why are inmates allowed access to large plastic bottles of fizzy pop when they use the bottles to brew up alcohol?

Why are inmates allowed access to money when they use it to buy drugs and other contraband?

Why aren't huge cage fences being installed around and over top of prison facilities when inmates are getting stuff thrown over the walls and using ropes and drones to smuggle stuff in?

Why aren't prison staff being more strictly controlled with tougher searches when entering facilities if inmates are getting some of them to smuggle stuff in?



Impose the existing rules on security and punishments for breaching rules...


Provide extra protective clothing/equipment to staff and extra staff...

and deport all foreign prisoners

Govt and local council funding of 'charities'... to name another £40 billion or so mis-spent every year...



Prisons are one of the primary responsibilities of govt and should be designated the funds that are necessary to run the system properly...


Same with all the other essential public services that we pay off taxes for and expect our govt to run properly...


Then if there is anything left over... then we can start thinking about other things to spend it on...

Do not let prisoners out of their cells unless they are handcuffed and leg shackled.
If they refuse to be restrained then do not let them out.

Heroin, cannabis and mobile phones smuggled into Wandsworth Prison by prison officer Kwaku Boakye

Heroin, skunk cannabis and mobile phones were smuggled into Wandsworth prison by a prison officer and the partner of an inmate.

Prison officer Kwaku Boakye, 59, of Moberly Road, Clapham, and Donna Taylor, 34, of St James Road in Mitcham, were sentenced to a combined total of 10 years for sneaking 103g of cannabis, 18 mobile phones, 17 SIM cars, 2.7g of heroin and three bottles of wine into the jail.

Boakye, who was given six years imprisonment today (May 27) at Southwark Crown Court, was searched by prison staff and a drugs dog on April 21, 2014.
