IT'S paedophilia if the child is under 10 or 12 ()i.e. pre-pubescent, and the the adult has sexual urges towards those children..

HOWEVER, what about when the student is between, say, between the ages of 13 and 16, and the teacher is only in their early 20s --
It is sexual misconduct with a minor;
It is sexual assault;
It is immoral;
And for someone in a position of trust/responsibility/influence, it is unethical as well as illegal - and maybe a power issue as well, as with rape..
BUT whether it is actually paedophilia is debatable -- as it depends on the actual definition for the different crimes.

I think in this case the lad was 16 when she had sex with him, but she had formed a close friendship when he was 13.....sounds like grooming to me.

The teenager, from Flintshire, north Wales, was unfit to be a witness in the case...
