Breaking news....Gunfire in Brussels raid on 'Paris attacks suspects'
major police operation is now under way in the area, with two suspects said to be on the run
Shots have been fired at police during a counter-terrorism raid in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
The incident took place in the southern suburb of Forest, an official told Reuters news agency, adding that an officer had been lightly injured.
A prosecutor said the raid was linked to the Paris attacks which killed 130 people last November.
Belgian police have been trying to track down Islamic State militants involved in the gun and bomb attacks.
Eric Van Der Sypt, a spokesman for the federal prosecutor, told AFP news agency that "police were fired at" during the raid on Tuesday afternoon.
He added that the raid was "linked to the Paris attacks investigation".
A major police operation is now under way in the area, with at least two suspects reportedly on the run.
