A woman has been arrested after she brandished a child's severed head outside a metro station in Moscow.
The woman was filmed walking around and shouting outside the Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station.
In the video, she can be heard shouting "I am a terrorist".
Local media reports that she took the severed head from her bag when she was stopped by a police officer.
The suspect has been named as Gyulchekhra Bobokulova, 39, from Uzbekistan, according to LifeNews.
Russia's Interior Ministry released a statement saying they believed the head belonged to a four-year-old girl who the woman had been babysitting.

Mental health issues do not discriminate - the heinous issues rears it's ugly head everywhere that humans dwell...and sadly the little children are often the immediate victims. And the continued feeding of disturbing news {via our media sources} become the fixation point for their 'DOOMS DAY PROPHECY' type of knee-jerk need to react. Prayers & positive thoughts for that poor child's family...the little girl is long gone into her safest place ever.
So many possible reasons - so many variables for why that 39 yr old woman would/could do that --- so tragic! Sad

I don't think Russia are big on that issue. It's horrific. The poor child had learning difficulties.

It's very difficult to sympathise with people with mental health issues when they start to hurt others. If they just hurt themselves, that's different.

That poor human being also set fire to the flat. More people could have been killed.

I read that she was actually the nanny, not just a casual baby sitter. You'd think that the family would have noticed something odd about her - it's not usual for someone to suddenly go completely bonkers to that extent with no warning.

The woman, believed to be the victim’s nanny, is suspected of killing the child before setting fire to its parents’ apartment.
CCTV appears to show the woman, dressed in a hijab, walking near a metro station with a head in her hands.
A police officer then intercepts her and wrestles her to the ground.
The suspect has been placed in psychiatric care to determine whether she is capable of understanding her actions, the Moscow Investigative Committee said in a statement (in Russian).

The woman is said to be schizophrenic, and she has said that Allah ordered her to kill the child. Prosecutors don't think that she acted alone, but it's not clear what that means. Do they mean that she is a terrorist pretending to be mentally ill, or that someone knew she was mentally ill and incited her to kill the child on behalf of Islamic extremists?

If she was a regular nanny, I find it hard to believe that she wouldn't have shown signs of mental illness before now.
