Far-right protest in Liverpool turns violent as bricks and fireworks thrown at riot police
A march by North West Infidels was switched from Manchester to Liverpool at the last minute and has triggered violent scenes in the city centre
A far-right march in Liverpool has triggered shocking scenes of violence as demonstrators threw bricks and fireworks at police.
A march by North West Infidels was switched from Manchester to Liverpool at the last minute and sparked a heavy police presence in the city centre.
Eye-witnesses say protesters launched missiles at police and one officer was taken to hospital after suffering from concussion.
A number of people have been arrested as part of the police operation.
