Howdy! Some Texas weather expressions:

Turd-floater -- flooding, heavy rain

Bug-killin' weather -- extreme cold that kills insects (and bacteria)

Texas has four seasons: drought, flood, blizzard, and twister.

it’s hot—darned hot. Hotter than a stolen tamale. Hotter than a honeymoon hotel. Hotter than a fur coat in Marfa.

So foggy the birds are walking.

So dusty the rabbits are digging holes six feet in the air.

The wind’s blowing like perfume through a prom.

Blue Norther:

Rather unique Texas cold front/thunderstorm system that moves in extremely fast, drops temperatures by 20-30 degrees (F) in minutes, and looks like this:
