If the hoi polloi do not do their job properly they get sacked, in public life they get a choice to 'resign through ill health' or 'fall on their sword, or to 'look after their ill wife'.
This Hogan Howe creature seems useless and should be sacked for dereliction of duty, negligence, wasting OUR money.

I fear that whoever gets charge if the met police will be constrained by the handcuffs of political correctness and political interference.
