The underbelly surface of the F-15 is almost all wing, so it's not surprising.  As airframe manufacturers experimented with delta-winged designs, they found that a cross between the cross wing and a flight surface that mimicked the delta, was the best for tactical flight.  Today, the entire aircraft underbelly is flight surface.  That's what you have with the MD F-15.
