Hi folks. If I'm missing for a few days it's not because I've left the forum, it's because the wife has got to go to Papworth hospital tomorrow for a heart bypass operation.
I'll let you know in due course how she is.

As an aside, many of Britain's top heart surgeons and thousands of it's fabulous NHS nurses are Muslims.
That is something that cannot sit too easily to some posters on here.
And is completely against what Trump is advocating in America.

@Stormee: I don't think HA is trolling. He's pointing out how the UK medical teams are the 'best of the best.' That's a good thing and most encouraging.

The NHS consultants,doctors and nurses are amongst the best in the world.
Over 50% are not UK born and bred, but we are bloody grateful for their skill, dedication and humanity.That some regard them as 'bloody foreigners, wogs and Pakis ' demonstrates the depths to which some people in our society have sunk.
Having had my arm saved by a Muslim surgeon after contracting septacemia , I owed him a great deal. Glad he was there for me as Stardesk will feel if his other half is treated by a non Brit.

One last post: Thanks everyone for the good wishes. I might come across as racist but at heart I'm not. It's the state of our country I'm concerned with. We have several foreign doctors at our surgery and I get on well with them and am grateful for their help.

Hi folks. Thanks again for all your good wishes etc.
Yesterday, Monday, she had a dye pumped round the body followed by a scan, so they can detect where and what her problem is. The panic about a heart bypass was my fault, thinking the worst. We hope she'll be told tomorrow what the problem is.
I'll keep you all informed.

FTL my lovely, she misses her HWB!

Hi folks.
Apparently the wife's problem is a narrowing of an artery near the base of the heart. Doctors said there are two options. An operation or medication. Obviously the wife hopes it will be medication, she should know tomorrow. We hope.

No, not medication, I was told thie morning, (Thurs) she'll have an operation tomorrow. I hope so for her sake, it's been 12 days now since the problem arose. Fingers crossed it'll all go well tomorrow. Bye for now.

Evening folks. The examinations and scans found a narrowing of an artery going into the heart, this is what caused her pain. After discussions with consultants it was decided they would try medication first, if that didn't work then she'd have to have an operation. So, they sent her home with a bag full of tablets. Obviously we're hoping that works.

Yes FTL, the old HWB has been rescued from its hiding place and is back in use.

Forums where genuine people post (like this one) are a really good outlet for sharing worries sometimes. People care but they are not personally involved, so sometimes it's easier to 'talk' about worries.
