US Congress votes to punish banks financing Hezbollah

The US House of Representatives voted unanimously Wednesday to impose tough new sanctions on banks that knowingly do business with the Lebanon-based Shiite movement Hezbollah. The bill targeting the Iran-backed Hezbollah, which is considered a terrorist organization by Washington and Israel, passed the Senate last month. It now goes to the White House for President Barack Obama’s signature. The legislation also targets Hezbollah’s television channel Al-Manar by aiming to cut the broadcast of satellite operators that air the channel’s programming. The House adopted the measure 422 to 0, following a unanimous vote in the Senate on November 17. Obama will sign the legislation, a senior administration official told AFP, adding that the administration has worked with Congress for years “to intensify the pressure against the Hezbollah terrorist organization.”

A crack down needs to be done on all funding of terrorist groups and to target their hate filled propaganda they view on TV.
This is a good start. This does not hurt or make all of the people of Labanon culpable to the crimes of Hezbollah and its targets their finanncial sources.

But aren't Hezbollah fighting ISIS?

Exactly, and today the US are having a go at Russia, saying that Russia are targetting the Al Qaeda groups that are fighting ISIS.

This is kind of related to the thread about the alliance headed by Saudi isn't it? Which groups are considered to be terrorists, and what if one terrorist group is fighting another terrorist group - which one do you side with?
