Syrian Kurdish leaders planning to capture last border crossing with Turkey held by Isis
Syrian Kurdish leaders plan to capture the last border crossing point between Syria and Turkey held by Isis, making it impossible for jihadist volunteers from Europe and elsewhere to reach Isis-held territories. seizure of the frontier town of Jarabulus on the Euphrates River is certain to anger Turkey, which is already alarmed by the rise of a Syrian-Kurdish state-let in northern Syria, aided by US air strikes and fielding strong military forces. The loss of Jarabulus would isolate Isis, bringing to an end its ability to bring in thousands of fanatical Islamic fighters who have been crossing from Turkey into Syria without significant hindrance over the last four years. Isis has frequently used these foreign volunteers as suicide bombers driving vehicles packed with explosives as an essential element in its military strategy.

good news
We should really be doing more for the Kurds.
And it does raise the point, Turkey has not been doing much to impede the movement to ISIS.
the Kurds have stood steadfast against ISIS and have been by far the most effective combatants on the ground.
The West Should make it Clear to Turkey that if they attack the Kurds from behind there will be consequences.

That's if Turkey doesn't bomb the Kurds first of course.

Yeah, it would be a great idea to threaten Turkey, or even bomb it. All the refugees who are there will be all over the place in leaky boats.

Who said anything about bombing Turkey? Fact is the only people really fighting ISIS are the Kurds and Turkey are bombing the Kurds and the Kurds are still classed as terrorists.

What would these "consequences" be then if Turkey attacked the Kurds?

Can't you work it out for yourself. As the Kurds are keeping ISIS at bay, ISIS would advance more.

It was Veya who talked about "consequences". Perhaps he could elaborate.

embargoes, it wants access to trade with the EU. a few billion consequences targeting the right end of town, right there.
EU equates to 43% of its trade, turkey is dependent on the EU like Australia is to China.

The purpose of the EU is also shown right there Only USA, Russia and China can meet it on equal terms for trade negotiation. Money is as powerful as bombs
