Against a great Berkeley Bears team, the University of Texas went down by 3...yes count them, 3 touchdowns.

But then the 4th Quarter, they come back and tie...nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggg...almost tie the game.  They get to 45-44, needing only an extra point to tie it and go into overtime.

Waa happened?  They missed the pat.  CAN U BE-LIEVE IT?!

It's one of the costumes Jim Carey wears in the Ace Ventura films.

In the 2nd film there is a scene where he tries for a slinky record down the steps of one of those high, high Tibetan monasteries, and it fails on the last step.  He comes up with the line: Can you believe it?

I thought of Jim Carey when the U. Texas place kicker missed the point.

My real sentiment is, poor kid.  It could happen to anybody, but he got chosen.  All that hope and angst built up, and he blows it on the easiest play in the game.

Well, both teams played their hearts out.  As for the kick, fuggedaboutit.  Razz

Oh yes, I remember the scene.

It's like when England misses penalties in the World Cup - and it happens frequently lol - but I always feel so sorry for the player who misses.
