Startling research carried out by campaign group the Electoral Reform Society (ERS) said 30 peers had claimed more than £750,000 between them from 2010 to 2015 without speaking once over that five-year period.
And dozens more allegedly claimed tens of thousands of taxpayer's money despite voting on crucial legislation - including English votes for English laws - fewer than five times.
Lords and ladies in the Upper House can claim £300 a day simply for attending, regardless of whether they contribute to debates, and ERS chief executive Katie Ghose branded the figures a "national scandal".
and we wonder where the money goes...
