He was good, very good, his vocal was amazing (and I loved his image) but I disliked his OTT performance of the song.
He veered too far away from the actual melody.

Don't think that the melody mattered one jot Eddie, as you said, it was a performance, an interpretation to wring out from it every last drop of emotion and every impact it could make. It was theatre, absolutely brilliant.

I guess I want to hear the song sang by him - not a number of notes sung over the top of the lyric, which is what he did. He took The show must go on and changed it so much that he could've been singing anything! I only knew it was the Queen song because I know the lyrics.

But yes, he's bloody good and I look forward to see him perform again.

There's something contrived about some songs/singers though and I'm not a massive fan of ballads tbh.

I also like to see people do something different - like that boy band. Instead of doing that Bruno song "uptown Funk, I'd like to have seen them do the other song mentioned "Sledgehammer"

Ballads are easier to sing than fast songs and that's why people do them. It allows them to elongate eaaaaaccchhhh woooooorddddd and thereby making them look better than they are - it's this reason that most people can sing at least one song really well IMO

I think (I hope) Simon has wised up to the whole power-ballad-bore-fest of previous xfactors and is steering girls away from Whitney songs.....thank god!!!

She's such a pretty girl but she looked worryingly thin to me Didge. She's naturally slim but I've never seen her looking that way. I'm not saying she might have an eating disorder or anything. We all have circumstances where we lose or put on weight, just hope she's happy and healthy I love you
