Two dead and two hospitalised in LIGHTNING strike in Brecon Beacons
Two mountain walkers have been killed and another two rushed to hospital after being hit by lightning in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
All four people were struck in Powys, South Wales, at around midday this afternoon.
Emergency services attended several scenes in and around the national park at Pen Y Fan.
Two people - believed to include a man in his 50s - were taken to the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil by an RAF Sea King helicopter.
The pair were walking together up the 2,907ft Pen Y Fan summit when they were struck and fell unconscious to the ground.
At first, they were said to have experienced life-threatening injuries.
However, it is believed that they have since died.
The second affected pair were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
One person is currently undergoing treatment at a specialist burns unit at Morriston Hospital in Swansea.

Hell, we had a really bad thunderstorm night before last, spectacular. I absolutely love them, but that brings home the dangers of them.
