I actually like some of the designs of some of the old grave stones , and all of them from 17 and 1800's are always religious just shows how Christianity was the chosen religion back then .

they really are fabulous.... just walking round and seeing the dates , it's pretty amazing..

the statues can be a bit scary i know they are not there to be scary but the angel statues are creepy .

what does concern me is the churches being sold to moslems to turn into mosques, all those old graves being dug up and demolished , that's someones loved one .

Why ? churches have been turned in to bars ,clubs skate parks, homes ,graves dug up for roads,supermarkets and other building works
its a building and land nothing special once the primary use is no longer required

its a building and land nothing special once the primary use is no longer required

Not to mention, if we left every grave where it stands, we'd have very little land to live on now Smile

If your family's grave was dug up i don't think you would be very happy , I know i wouldn't i care to much and respect them too much to let that happen .

Most babies graves have christmas cards and toys , i usually take a wreath at christmas .

There are some dreadful graveyards in London - really sinister-looking. I used to live near one, and I never saw a bird fly over it.

To be honest, I suppose there was no vegetation to attract them, but it seemed more than that at the time. Laughing

spooky , I remember when i was 12 years old we lived near a church and me and my friends used to dare each other to run through the graveyard alone in the dark . I ran through it and there was this huge grave with an angel on it about 6 feet tall it was so sinister and i have never run so fast in my life . It terrified me lol .
