The best news in video gaming history!
After being saddened by the end of last nights Game of Thrones I was instantly plunged into immense joy this morning when it was announced that Final Fantasy VII (arguably the best game ever, and certainly the best PSone game ever), is to get a full on remake. It means shelling out for a Playstation 4, but it will be SO worth it...
Are the any old FFVII fans on here?

Re: The best news in video gaming history!
My son got really into Minecraft a while back
I always assumed (wrongly) that is was just about building walls and walking around with an axe.
Apprently, according to the "experts" it's brilliant for helping young minds develop and great for decision-making and a whole host of other stuff!
I'll ask my son about this game. He plays on his custom-built computer though rather than PS or Xbox

Elder scrolls games are the best to me, though agree with Eilzel and Final Fantasy was also cool.
Watch Vikings series Eilzel if you have not watched. Its not Game of Thrones, but its still very good.

Hi Nicko
Because boys and girls grow out of climbing trees and just "hanging around" and when teens "hang around" people ask them to move in and there's nowhere for them to go!
My son goes to the cinema with his friends and out to dinner (nandos normally lol) on a Friday after school. He plays football a few times a month and goes to friends houses to hang out, but other than that he is indoors playing on his computer - and as I've said, a lot of the stuff he does involves alotmof brain work.
Sometimes I nag him to get out, but I'd rather him be in than smoking and drinking in the streets!

When I was a kid [a long time ago] you could not keep me in the house, I spent hours exploring the country side, fishing for stickle backs and later poaching private rivers for Trout, I would knock roosting pheasants out of tree's with a catapult at night. Don't s
uppose kids today would find much fun in that. My personal memories, wish I could do it again.

Eds, FFVII is from 1997 so before his time, and it really appeals to geeky nostalgic fanboys like me haha though no doubt it will be incredible!
Didge, so many people have recommended vikings but I can't invest so much time and love for more than one big show at a time lol I will catch up when GoT eventually comes to an end

I think boys roaming the countryside is for country boys. What about boys born in towns and cities?

Re: The best news in video gaming history!
I built a pc in about 1999 and it's still going strong, good for a game of counter strike still or general internet usage, letter/invoice making or playing music etc.
Got a PS 3 about a year and half ago and been loving some of The games out on it, getting them all at CEX game exchange shop for couple of quid each... I know the games are all 'old' now... but they are all new to me!!!
And like I say, only a couple of quid each!!!
Been loving the assassins creed series... near the end of 'black flag' at The moment... superb series of games!
Done a bit of call of duty And some other games, plently of football (pro evo) on The PS2 and previous consoles over the years, as well as a bit of golf...
But another PS3 game I liked was 'fall out 3', which I didn't like at first but thought I'd give it a chance and see, and which turned out to be a real treat!!!
Think it was made by the same people who did the skyrim elder scrolls games?
And I think fall out 3 was done by the assassins creed people?
Anyone know?

Re: The best news in video gaming history!
Yes, I thought it was the skyrim and fall-out3 games that were by the same people, as they both had a similar in game player console menu thing (called a 'pip boy' in fallout3).
And I think it was 'farcry 2' that was by assassins creed people... as I seem to remember a similar sort of trophy/points/bonus/reward announcement system going on in top right hand corner of screen while playing...?
Started playing The assassins creed series, did 1,2,3, brotherhood and revelations, back to back, first one was very good and others getting better and better!!!
Then got farcry2, looked good from the start, got the hang of it quick, user friendly, great adventure.
Then had a go at fallout 3, didn't really like it at first, didn't really know what was going on at first, seemed a bit slow and hard work, the 'pip boy' player console was also confusing at first... got pissed off with it a couple times early on and ditched it... but then thought I'd give it another go and persevere with it a bit to see... and I'm so glad I did as after a little while I got the hang of what was going on and it turned out being one of The best games I've ever played!!!
Plus well worth playing again!!!
Then I had a go on that skyrim scrolls game I think it was called, but didn't really like the look of it again, found the graphics and movement a bit too slow and clunky... anyone else know if it's worth giving another good go?
