Simon Mann: 'We can use mercenaries to defeat Isil'
The former SAS man who plotted the disastrous 'Wonga coup' says a private army could be used to defeat Islamic State:
It is late morning in a cafe in London’s Sloane Square, and over coffee and croissants, the ex-mercenary Simon Mann is sketching out a plot to topple the Islamic State. Perhaps not suprisingly for someone who spent five years in jail for his role in the botched “Wonga Coup”, he makes it clear that he has no immediate plans to do so. But if someone did ring up for his help - just as they did in Equatorial Guinea, and before that in Angola and Sierra Leone - here is how he’d go about it.

There are many South African Mercenaries all ready fighting isis. There is a publication called Soldier of Fortune which I get sent occasionly, there are many adverts for Mercenaries, although that term is not used openly.

money is not always the best motive to fight but hired help can be very useful, especially for the more denial ops..

It's up to the Iraqi Government really. The US and UK are not willing to send in troops, and they won't get rid of ISIS by bombing them, so if the Iraqi Goverment wants to get rid of ISIS they'll have to pay the going price.

Problem is Raggs the Iraq Army are crap they will run before fighting, if they were as good as the Kurds there would be no problem. As I remember the Iraq Army ran away leaving loads of armaments for the murdering scum to use!

Yes. I think it's fairly well documented that the Iraqi army abandoned Ramadi at least. If the Government wants to defend Baghdad, I think they'll have to get some support in.

Does anybody know why we don't like ISIL? An interview aired this morning on ABC, had an Iraqi Army soldier saying that if the west sent over troops, he would sooner fight the US and UK than ISIL. So...we're supposed to go over there and fight on his side???
And that got me to thinking...if that's our friends, perhaps we should shake hands with our enemies.
