Anyone heard from FRED?

His "next week" was last week, so now is the time we should be looking around. I woke up thinking of him this am...guess that's a kind of prayer. It certainly is a 'miss ya' and 'thinkin' of ya'!

I've updated eddie and she knows the full story. I should have had open heart surgery last Wednesday but the op was cancelled at the very last minute and when I was actually gowned up, prepped and in the waiting area. I'm absolutely bloody gutted and now have to wait another 10 days before going through the whole terrifying rigmarole again.

I don't blame anyone - the previous op threw up problems, and I can only pray that the patient - to whom I had been chatting earlier - came through it OK.

Emotionally and psychologically I'm a bloody wreck and my poor family and partner are trying to cope. And I was always regarded as a hard bastard!

I have an email link to eddie and I'm quite happy for her to keep you updated.

Its horrible when that happens Fred, sadly it does, all too often.
It happened to me a few years ago....all dressed up and nowhere to go, they sent me home because an emergency came up, and like you I was gutted.

Good news is in a few days you will have had the op and be on the road to recovery....and I just want to add all my good wishes to everyone elses. x

Pain having the cancellation and having to wait again but at least it's not weeks or even months. stay positive and you'll be back with us very soon.

Forums are a funny plateau of existence. We may never meet the people we mix with on a daily/weekly or monthly basis, but that doesn't stop us caring about them.

I will let him know you’re all thinking of him. It’s nice to know people are sending you positive vibes.

Hello you lot.

Well, I've been back home for a week now and the fully repaired ticker and its bit of prime Aberdeen Angus valve are behaving themselves. I'm already walking up to a mile at a fair lick without getting puffed.

My grand daughter is convinced that as well as being part zombie, having been clinically "dead" for a couple of hours (I think), I am now at distinct risk of becoming a cannibal and eating my Uncle Wally. Hmmmmmmmmmm.......the fertile imagination of teenagers!

I think those nice people at the Royal Papworth must have slipped some sort of "nice-guy" concoction into my meds because I can't even bring myself to argue with Andy about that great newspaper editor Paul Dacre elsewhere!!!!!

Don't worry...it won't last long.
