WOULDN'T YOU people agree that when used as a man's name, "Fred" inevitably gives rise to that mental image of a somewhat rustic, bucolic, steady-going, "salt of the earth" agrarian character, full of bonhomie and a cornerstone of village life - often a groundsman, tradie or gamekeeper ???
