2. scrub face, fucking hilarious
3. actually not far removed from medieval times, would be filled with herbs and such, partly so not to have to smell the stench of death and partly to ward off the plague, sweating sickness, whatever,
4. look at everyone else in that scene, all milling about all together. as weird as this woman looks, i think she is the sensible one in that picture

i was able to make myself a face mask and hair net combined with a pair of my sons underpants
and to clarify. my son wasn't wearing them at the time and also they were clean ones. i made sure of that

That's the meaning of the song, deriving from the black death:
