Parents sue school board for teaching their daughter ‘girls are not real’

A Canadian couple have filed a human rights complaint against an Ontario school board for telling their six-year-old daughter during a lesson on gender identity that “there’s no such thing as boys and girls.”

Pamela and Jason Buffone have filed the complaint on behalf of their daughter against the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, the child’s former teacher and the principal of her school on grounds of discrimination on the basis of sex, gender and gender identity in contravention of the Human Rights Code.

An amended application filed last week by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, which is representing the young girl and her parents, also notes that the child’s rights to security of the person and equality under sections 7 and 15(1) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms have also been infringed, said Lisa Bildy, a staff lawyer with the centre.

Pamela Buffone told Radio Canada International she knew something was wrong when her six-year-old daughter (who’s being referred to as “NB” to protect her identity) demanded to know why her teacher was telling the class that “girls are not real and boys are not real.”

It all began in January of 2018, when a new teacher, Janine Blouin, took over their daughter’s class, Buffone said.

“She was very passionate about all kinds of social justice topics, most of which our daughter really enjoyed learning about,” Buffone said.

There's always a tension between equality and differences. Canadians are just sussing this kind of thing out.

They need to sort out where natural differences matter, and where they do/should not. For example, gender doesn't, and should not matter in voting. Alternatively, it clearly does matter when setting aside a shelf in a store for sanitary napkins.

You mean sex matters in regards to sanitary towels?

I dont think anyone has any issue with transsexuals who go through full tranisition to be as near enough to the sex they believe their body should be. Where I believe they should then be able to obtain the legal status of the sex they have changed to. This has now been degraded by a new wave of transgender people that think dying their hair pink, whilst having two hairy balls swinging between their legs. Enables them to be classed as a women. To then enter female protected spaces. That is disconcerning, because then sex based rights become meaningless. These types of tans people are nothing more when born male simple transfeminine and when born female and, then trans masculine. As why do these types of trans not fully transition? Are also people who have no previous history of gender dysphoria and transition in later life, long after puberty?

As thre is little effort to become the oppposite sex. Where its based on poor old sterotypes of women they hold to idenitify as females. When women have been fighting to see the eradication of such poor sterotypes of females

This is being done to make life easier for trans women and yet and no point has the views of females been taken into consideration or their feelings. Hence this is why some teachers are trying to erase what it means to be a male and female. To indoctrinate children so they come to believe the myths being taught as somehow real. That is wrong on every level, If you fail to argue what the science says on this.

Again i am all for equal rights, but this is a systematic program to attempt to eradicate what biology is. By some people who wrongly believe they need to do this to make Trans people accepted in society. When they are accepted as trans people. What people rightly question is male bodied humans being allowed into female spaces and competing in protected female categories
