There's a difference between free speech and faux speech. Nevertheless, I still advocate free speech, even as a remedy to faux speech.
In the UK and Europe, where there is limited protections for speech, they allow laws that would be struck down in the US by the First Amendment. Nevertheless, I still favor the First Amendment approach. If someone lies, call him out rather than putting up prohibitions.
