First topic message reminder :

This video shows him alighting from plane, walking down steps to the car, ignoring the car and wandering off and having to be stopped and escorted back. It's really weird!

Trump has a 40% favorability rating.  He hasn't been able to get any legislation passed.  I wish he did more damage to the country, because then the voters would flood the polls against him.  Alas...he keeps fookin up and can't get anything right.

Thorin wrote:Hitler got into power off 43.91% in 1933. So again my point is telling is it not. Except Hitler then took absolute power

Yes, I am one of those who wants the nation to divide.  I have been advocating a Pacific States of America for a decade, with California as its nucleus.  The USA is too large, and there are whole swaths of the country that have nothing in common with one another.  There is no meaning to the US.  No purpose.  No common goal.

Thorin wrote:So by separating California from the rest of the US. How is this then, going to help the millions of people that do not support Trump in the rest of the US? Again you chose the selfish avenue Quill and are basically saying you are on your own Jack to the rest. In essence you are just trying to push the rest away and in effect would likely cause and create the US even more so moving down the road to civil war. Look what happened the last time states tried to separate from the rest? It caused the American Civil War.

The Pacific States of America would be rid of Trump, as well as the south.  Two birds with one stone...wouldn't it be great?  Razz  They made Germany work by splitting it.  Let's do the same here.

The fact that Germany is back together is more to do with the breakup of the Soviet Union, and it's powerful influence on eastern Europe.  Not the same situation as us.

You are not grasping the point are you Quill on how some people are hero worshiped as Trump is, by a substantial minority. By far many of them having permits to own an arsenal, so big, it could by themselves over power any state. So this is not about how Germany became unified again but how a nation can blindly follow a leader. Hence why its more important that Trump loses his support from his supporters.

I seem to remember some people wondering about Hillary Clinton having dementia and the uproar it caused.
Bit different when it's someone everyone loves to hate
.
The case against Hillary was a laughable amateur job. If the conspiracy theorists want to be taken seriously they should  make their essay/vid NOT look like it was cobbled together by a small kid.

The case against Trump is very detailed, very well researched and intelligently written. I am still not convinced tho. I don't think he has dementia, I think he's just a plain nasty old man ....... and forgetful  too -he has got into a waiting car and slammed the car door in his wife's face a couple of times - as if he clean forgot about her presence. Shocked

And He has probably  taken a shit a few times and forgotten to wipe his ass, too.
Dementia? Narcissist?  Altzheimers? Insane?

Could easily be a little bit of them all in one orange package.

It'll never happen, mate.  Their ideology has all the answers, even if he fails and falls on his face.  Where's the Wall?  Oh, he was just campaigning...now he has to be presidential.  Where's the Muslim ban?  Those fookin courts have not allowed him to ban religions.  What about heathcare?  The Democrats are against it.

Trump's supporters are in it for the long haul.  Part of it is reduction of cognitive dissonance.  If you show him to be a failure, they'll change the goal posts.

You have not read or understood a single point I have made have you Quill?

You fixate on having a Californexit, which we have seen before in history, which caused the American civil war.
You then also fixate on democrats, when Trump is unique in how no matter how much he makes an arse of himself, people hero worship him. Hitler was able to control a nation to think it was fine to hate the Jews and deny them every human right going. He plays on fear in the same exact way that Hitler did. Not off real problems with ideologies, like Islamism, but off a fear of people themselves through their identity.

So the way to defeat trump is by winning over his supporters. As the more you go after trump, the more you will never win this battle. Hitler in the end caused his own down fall. Try learning from history

You have not read or understood a single point I have made have you Quill?

Everything I have responded to, I have included quotes from your posts.  Yet you seem not to come back to those ideas and continue the dialogue. Is that my fault? I'm supposed to establish your priorities, amid you own posts, for you? Is Trump suffering from dementia? - Page 2 2190311264 It's enough that I have to extrapolate that which makes sense in your posts. I cannot intuit what are your favorite topics.

Thorin wrote:You fixate on having a Californexit, which we have seen before in history, which caused the American civil war.

I think slavery is what caused the American civil war.  We have no such moral issue in this day and age.  We are divided because we simply have a nation too large to effectively manage by one government.  What do people in Iowa care about people in New Hampshire?  What do people in Palm Springs have in common with people in Detroit?

We are permanently divided, and Trump has nailed in the wedge.  He has cemented our divisions.  He has torn asunder the Republican Party, and left the Democratic Party the only viable political institution.  The Democrats are doing well in the western states, and not really interested in things "back east".

There will be no civil war.  This is not something that will, or should be imposed on people.  This is something that people will conclude for themselves, in their own sweet time.  This is something that people will willingly accept, and even welcome when they see there is no alternative.

Thorin wrote:You then also fixate on democrats, when Trump is unique in how no matter how much he makes an arse of himself, people hero worship him. That is because the few people who support Donald Trump (and it is a minority) are what writer Eric Hoffer called true believers.  Hitler had his Brown Shirts, and they were his true believers.  But Trump's true believers will still be there, even if you put Trump in jail.

Thorin wrote:So the way to defeat trump is by winning over his supporters. As the more you go after trump, the more you will never win this battle. Hitler in the end caused his own down fall.

As you've already seen, Trump's supporters will never change, let alone "be won over".  So we let Trump take over...and wait, and wait, and wait for him to cause his own down fall?  That's a little too vague.

Besides, it may not work.  Hitler had some pretty powerful foes on the battle front; the US has nobody to oppose it.  We're not even at war.  Trump feels no pressure whatsoever, except from within.  I don't think Hitler and Nazi Germany pose the right model for this situation.

I think we're much better off hitting the problem square on.  Trump is an old man with dementia, and probably a drug problem.  We don't have to hate him.  Just remove him.

Trump is a small problem to the problems that the overall US has, with racism, guns, war-mongering, economic imbalance, and so forth.  These issues are impossible to take on in the country as a whole...Alabama hates blacks, Texans, Wisconsinites and Ohioans want wars.  Carolinians hate gays.  Missourians hate Muslims.  Only one place has a consensus on all of these issues...that's California and the west coast.  It's best if we go on our way...and less pressure on the rest.

Let them go their own way and create the world that suits them best.

Well that had about as much relevance to my points as did Clintons ability to win the US election, where again you failed to understand a single point I made

Well may I suggest you actually read what I have said, because in two topics its clear you never did Quill.

Here is how you write:

Lesson #1: give clear, concise answers in a theme sentence at the beginning of the paragraph. Lesson #2: fill the paragraph with points that substantiate, or elaborate the theme. Lesson #3: end a paragraph with a thesis sentence...that is to say, make your argument based on evidence that you have provided in the body of the paragraph.

When you write articles, speeches or letters, make the sections conform to the same structure as in a paragraph.

When you write a book, make the chapters conform to the same structure as in a paragraph, article or any communication (speech, letter, etc.).

Good luck.

I have no need or want of you to tell me how I should write. As again it shows again how poorly you misdirect when again you are unable or have the ability to understand or answer points raised to you. Which has been easily demonstrated to you. Again you are not the standard as to what is the correct way to do so and it proves further your inability to comprehend counters. Even more so when you are out of your depth. This was evident from the start. When you were never medically qualified. Had a confirmation bias to believe your own subjective beliefs to medical problems. I then raised the points on the issue more so about the real problem. That of his support and gave aspects on history of where there has been such blind devotion before in history. Too you then going off tangent and not understanding a single thing. You always do this when unable to counter points. Trying to look superior, when you come off very poorly within a debate and then continue to make such really inept misdirection.

You don't make any more sense when you are ranting. Organize your thoughts so you show a linear concentration of ideas. Writing (above) merely reflects the organization of written thoughts. You first have to think in an organized way.

There was no rants in my posts quill, yet you made claims you could never ever hope to achieve or back up. As you are not qualified. At best they are just poorly based opinions. Hence why you continually deflect to try and deligitimize me. Based off some poor attempt at elitism. In how you want answers to follow a certain format.

It shows you run scared, as this is all you have to counter with
So my views were organized, you simply were not up to the task to answer them.

Anyway this whole thread was nothing more as in poor taste. As its actually insulting to place Trump comparable to actual sufferers of Dementia. As people with Dementia have a medical condition. Claiming Trump has, offers excuses for his wrongs. Like Zack said this done not based on medical reasons, but emotions that people have in wanting Trump gone. Its poor to say the least and only would ever gain sympathy for him. When he has substantial support. You have to allow him to lose his support, as he is already doing bu his stupidity.

Have a good evening everyone

Is it?

Am I arguing that i am qualified to diagnose Trump as suffering dementia?

Nope

Are you qualified?

Nope

You are so desperate to oust Trump and fail to see it would cause even more problems, based off his hero worship support. That you invent and claim he has such a medical condition. Which even if he did, would only then serve to garner him sympathy. That is what you fail to grasp. You would propose a medical view that would provide and get trump off the hook on everything he had done or said

Trump has many of the symptoms of dementia. My focus is not on "suffers of dementia," so I'll leave that subject to others. Trump, however, does exhibit a chronic or persistent disorder of the mental processes. He has memory disorders, personality changes, and impaired reasoning.

He seems to go in and out, which would suggest early stages of dementia.

Trump exhibits all the symptoms of dementia.  He lies.  He says he will fix healthcare, then says we should abandon it.  He makes up stuff.  He claims Obama bugged Trump tower, when it is proved otherwise.  He is inordinately egocentric.  He can't stand it when he is not the center of attention.  He lacks impulse control.  He tosses $100-million worth of tomahawk missiles into a cornfield to (supposedly) scare Assad.  Most of all, he has a complete failure of memory.  He said he would "drain the swamp," when all he did was let the vermin swim in.

And then, he has no conscience.  This suggest that he has lost the ability to reason. He doesn't realize people are looking.

Actually Qiill I think this is entirely about you
As again you make claims to something you have little understanding of, based off confirmation bias.
Would you claim the same of others if this was not Trump?

I doubt it and yet you believe something because you want to see him removed. That is how you come to believe something as seen here. Its not based on symptoms but opinions you have.

Now how many times do I have to tell you Trump is a nightmare and how many times do I have to tell you, that you actually. By your poor opinion claims actually garner him more support and sympathy?

If it's a thread about me, then you are in violation of the rules.

I you think this thread is about you, then report it.
I never even said the thread was about you
So this shows how desperate you are when you clutch at straws

Well I look forward to you looking silly over this.

As I never made this thread about you or made it about you.

I stated that this is about you.

I have seen a lot of people suffering with dementia, it strikes in various ways, and the onset can be very subtle.
Its a horrible disease, and one not to be used as an insult...ever.
I have no idea whether Trumps has early onset dementia, I doubt it.
I think he is just so used to being surrounded by sycophants he acts however he feels, which makes him more eccentric than anything else.

I don't think the fact that he walked the wrong way at the airport is a sign he is losing any of his mental abilities.

I don't think he's fit to be president but taking that out of the equation - would early dementia prevent one from doing a good job with help?

Ps. As for him walking past the car....I could do that quite easily!

My dad was diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Dementia in like 2009 (yeah, I suck at remembering dates) and it was basically what I called autism in reverse where a functional person basically reverted into a severely autistic person. My son has autism and I don't see many parallels with him and trump (bias might play a part in that lol). But at routine would be important, specifically look up sundowning. Trump seems to very much be a creature of comfort (in routines, not referring to luxury items/life) and routine. His speaking ability seems to have deteriorated (my dad eventually was only really able to say the word "shit" in proper context, but he did lose the ability to speak mostly with getting the words from brain to mouth and he wouldn't be able to say anything his brain wanted to, slightly different from Trump to my observation). There have been some successes with (the right diagnosis based on CAT scan or whatever) a shunt being inserted in the brain and it drains fluids and the person regains full functionality. There is a video of it on youtube I'm sure and some written articles.

Let's say he does have dementia, how sad is it that so many people know it and are exploiting it and manipulating him for their own personal gain. If those in his life truly cared about him, they'd do something about it for his own good.

Hi NoTal.  Sorry to hear about your dad.  My mom went with dementia, too.  So I join you in your sadness.

Your last point--that people around Donald Trump would use him, and not try to help him-- is one that we haven't discussed, and should.  It is classic Republican/Tory Party: use any and everyone for selfish, special interests, and fook the person, the state of the nation or the common interest.
