Boy, 3, 'spends two days alone with mother's body'

A toddler pleaded "please help me wake up my mummy" after she collapsed and died, leaving him trapped in a flat alone with her body for two day. Lydia Macdonald, 28, was found dead at the property in Perth, on Wednesday evening. Her death is being treated as unexplained, but her family believe she died from an asthma attack.Her father Ronald said her three-year-old son Mason Martin, who is now an orphan, was found alone with his mother's body. Neighbours said he was heard pleading through a letterbox for help to wake his mother.
He told the Daily Record: "We are Mason's next of kin and have been in the hospital with him from the start. He was very sad to begin with but has brightened up considerably. He has been told about his mum but we're not sure how much he understands. We'll be looking after him."
