uploading pics

Hi folks. I've been trying to upload a picture to a topic but the process doesn't seem to work. I've never had any previous problems. Can you please give me the correct procedure, A to Z, and I'll try again.

Some of the photos are of wildlife which I'm sure some of you would like to see.

You didn't do it right. You can't post an html page as an image, as it's not an image. This is what you tried to post as an image:

@star -- you have to make sure you have the URL of the image itself -- that would end with something like .jpg, .gif or .png. Then you can either use the quick tool in the toolbar that looks like a blue photo with a green asterisk in the bottom-right corner, or you can put the URL of the image in between this pair of tags:

Code:: [img] [/img]

if your using windows right click on the image on a website and select 'Copy image Location'
then paste that into URL field on the 'post an image' button

I have trouble sometimes if I'm using my iPad, I find a laptop far more compatible to forumotion

The biggest mistake is people try to simply copy the image. You must 'copy image location' and not copy directly.

Hi Stardesk, guess you are trying to put your own pics on. Go into the first icon of the 4th box (host an image), click on browse and select your pic, click host it, the bottom line that comes up of the three lines is the URL. Copy that then get rid of the box. Now go into the next icon to the right, C&P the url into the top box and click 'insert'. It's a bit of a faff, but the only way I know how to do it when you want to put your own pictures on.

Or do everything sassy said above but paste the URL and write uploading pics at the beginning of the URL and

at the end.
