The Workplace Gender Equality Agency has a lot of work to do on its statistics following Senator David Leyonhjelm's questions in Estimates. The agency publish a gender pay gap based on ABS data, but they don’t account for the fact, revealed in the same ABS data, that male full-time workers tend to work longer hours than female full-time workers.

How are those women employed to work for the workplace gender Equality agency?
They were clueless and embarressed countless women with their skewed figures.
They do nothing for equality or the rights of women
They were embarressing

People appointed to those committees don't always need to have any qualifications, experience or 'expertise'...

Often they are simply political appointees, there to vote for their political masters, some may be friends or relatives who need the money, as for the senators themselves who sit on the committees, for some of them it may simply have been their turn..

That kind of incestuous/nepotism shenanigans and political maneuvering occurs often with both senate committees and supposed "expert panels" at both the Federal and State level down here.
