My phone rings.
I answer.
"Hello, can I interest you in our double glazed windows?"
"Sorry, but I am quite busy presently ".
"It will only take 5 minutes".
"So will I . I am having sex with my wife!".
Awkward silence at the other end.

How to put a guy on the spot! Laughing Very clever.

However, since Caller-I.D. I let voice-mail handle it. BTW, I usually delete before the person is finished.

It was a young lady selling the windows. Mrs AA was spluttering with laughter.
I think( hope) it was because of what I said rather than my optimism of lasting a further 5 minutes.

One rang my hubs phone today, said you've had an accident, hub replied yeah got broken arms, broken legs oh I'm a miracle. Before he finished, they hung up Laughing

just put them on hold, go make some grub or take a shower...even take the dog out.  That gets rid of them AND racks up their bill.

As annoying as they are, and hilarious as your response was AA, I kind of feel for them. I did CC for a few months years ago, it is the least enjoyable job I ever had. But let's remember in today's awful jobs market a good a chunk of the jobs are telesales jobs. Those callers probably hate calling you as much as you resent them for it But for some, it's that or the dole...
