I had breakfast recently with a friend who's a former Republican member of Congress. Here's what he said:

Him: Trump is no Republican. He’s just a big fat ego.

Me: Then why didn’t you speak out against him during the campaign?

Him: You kidding? I was surrounded by Trump voters. I’d have been shot.

Me: So what now? What are your former Republican colleagues going to do?

Him (smirking): They’ll play along for a while.

Me: A while?

Him: They’ll get as much as they want – tax cuts galore, deregulation, military buildup, slash all those poverty programs, and then get to work on Social Security and Medicare – and blame him. And he’s such a fool he’ll want to take credit for everything.

Me: And then what?

Him (laughing): They like Pence.

Me: What do you mean?

Him: Pence is their guy. They all think Trump is out of his mind.

Me: So what?

Him: So the moment Trump does something really dumb – steps over the line – violates the law in a big stupid clumsy way … and you know he will ...

Me: They impeach him?

Him: You bet. They pull the trigger.

Robert Reich is probably the ultimate intelligentsia of progressives. This is an important exchange, emphasizing how imperative it is to continue provoking minority President Pussy-grabber.

The longer he is delayed in his ultimate and inevitable breakdown, the longer the Republicans have to get their subterfuge done. This is why I say the media must keep up the utmost pressure and stop appeasing and backing down. The sooner the crackup, the less time the Republicans have to take away people's rights.

The new White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer announced today to the gathered reporters of Washington, D.C., that the new President’s first official bowel movement was twice the size of Obama’s in 2009.
Although White House claims on the size of the crowd at Mr. Trump’s inauguration are disputed, in this case, the facts appear to be clear.
“It is only his first full working day in office and the President has already created the right atmosphere for his time in office.” Spicer’s voice trembled as he reported, “Mr. Trump’s first presidential bowel movement measured twice the volume of that recorded by his predecessor, Barack Obama. A rant from a friend of mine:

Grenada was the island of 90,000 people that President Reagan invaded in 1983. (Trump voters - the rest of this paragraph might be skipped). Speaking of invasions, Janet and I are quite sick of hearing the baboon groper talk of his disrespect of the intelligence community largely based on the Iraq invasion. The community did not have anywhere near foolproof evidence of weapons of mass destruction. It is our opinion that Dick Cheney was so anxious to invade and occupy Iraq (his 1 per cent solution) that he and Doug Feith and others cherry picked "evidence" and ignored any intelligence that suggested otherwise. They also believed Chalabi and Curveball. The T. was somewhat mollified by his intelligence briefing (on the same day he tweeted about drawing much higher ratings than Schwarzenegger) and suddenly says he is a big fan of the community. That guy is going to be President of the United States of America in less than two weeks. American voters, what have you done? Was there any positive reason or was it all anti-Hillary? Horrors, a well-qualified woman, though I don't deny there was some baggage. Why do so many people bring up Benghazi? Sure, four Americans were tragically killed there but Colin Powell and Condi Rice agree that all those witch hunts were utterly stupid and McCarthy even admitted they just wanted to get Hillary. The same folks that criticize Hillary for Benghazi never bring up the more that 4,000 Americans killed in our stupid and costly invasion of Iraq, which was a bulwark against Iran, by far the greatest threat. The T. was right about one thing though, the election was rigged. The Russians may not have affected any polling stations but all the information and disinformation that they sent through their friend, and a fellow admired by T., Julian Assange, surely affected some voters. And, how do you like T.'s choice for National Security Advisor? Not only has General Flynn been discredited and disgraced for the unauthorized release of classified information, he retweeted the insane idea that Hillary was running a child prostitution ring and that creep from North Carolina went to the pizza parlor in D.C. where it was supposed to be taking place and found people eating pizza. Flynn's son says until it's disproven it might be true. These are the kind of folks the baboon is hiring. George Orwell didn't have sufficient imagination to come up with a bizarre story like this.
