Have a look at the above link, £3.72 an hour for those aged under 18,

£5.03 for 18-20 year olds and a pathetic £2.68 an hour for an apprentice.

Yet one or two on here say encouraging that age group to get their own flat is a good idea and that they would manage without too much difficulty!...

Now, a young person should get the same wage as others in general unskilled work,they work the same hours and possibly even harder, so why should they tolerate a pittance?

Wether or not they live with parents or have their own flat is not the point, they should receive the same pay as older folk in unskilled work...

But can you imagine an 'apprentice' trying to survive from £2.68 an hour with rent to pay, gas and electric , clothing ,food and transport?

What a fucking joke and an insult to the working youth of today.

Can you imagine of Labour hadn't set the wheels in motion by introducing any NMW?

Those 'apprentices' would probably be earning as less as a quid an hour.

Anyone who supports this rate of payment for our youth will have show just what lack of decency, fairness and morals they have.

   NO DOUBT the anti-worker pro-Tory forces on here will be baying that those 'below minimum" wage levels mentioned in the O/P are still too excessive and must be cut even further, so that they can import even more "guest workers", (and then take a few more holidays themselves) !!!

DRINKY can than lecture us on how your country's TWO MILLION fake cripples ripping off the system and keeping him out of the workforce should be paying him for the honour of his abuse and lies..

AND don't they know that people who can't work don't need anywhere to live, as there's plenty of bridges and ditches around ~ and WHY should Drinky/Smelly/L'ilAndy/Shady have to pay taxes at some future... Oops! That's right - Drinky likes to pretend that he still pays taxes, doesn't he !
