And i'm talking about computers, not the ipod or iPhone. The Mac or MacBook Pro? Tell us what you think.

What do you use it for - work or pleasure?

Particularly interested in the mini mac - with an SSD - I want to know about performance.

To my knowledge I have never used anything made by Apple - including iPod or iPhone.

Back in my earlier days working for newspapers (and a magazine) I used Apple desktops, but it was so long ago that you can't even compare them to now.

I wouldn't get a Macbook, though. You can get a good laptop for so much less that you can actually repair yourself, that has a replaceable battery, etc.

If you're just looking for lightness and portability, there are so many options out there. If you want the "security through obscurity" Apple offers you could go with Ubuntu or another flavor of Linux. I use an iPhone, iPod Touch and an iPad but that's my limit. They're very expensive and my laptops tend to only last 2 to 3 years.....apparently you shouldn't use them on your lap??? Who Uses Apple Products? Smile122

MS-DOS users are left to drool...

Windows still uses MS-DOS at it's 40-year-old core..

HENCE it's greater susceptibility to viruses, hacking and assorted "bugs" when compared to any other top-shelf O/S in the known universe.

YOU might pay 50% more for an iMac or MacBook Pro, but if you learn to utilise it's small and numerous differences you will get 100% better value at the end of the day..

AND, there are other good reasons why photographers, movie makers, artists and musicians overwhelmingly choose Macs. geek

Macs are only good if you're into graphic design or photography and shit like that.

i have a Time Capsule/Router which works pretty good still since its a first generation

but i use windows, tried a mac but couldnt figure out the it out
