I presume that Tom was complicit in the writing of that article. If not, I think there might be a lot of rows brewing.

What I mean is - is the article supposed to be humorous and a team effort, or is a genuine complaint about her husband - done very publically but at the same time behind his back?

If her husband does act like that he sounds like an insecure dickhead.....not sure why anyone would tolerate that.
Obviously couples who have been together for years banter and bicker, but he just sounds nasty imo.
As for the rest of what she says, I think that's all in her mind.
I am of that age and I have never found that people treat me differently. If I am ignored in a shop or coffee bar that's because the assistant is useless.....nothing to do with my (or anyone elses age)

A bit like that Samantha Brick woman who declared she was so gorgeous men fell in love with her on sight and all women were jealous of her (she was actually quite plain and boring when she revealed herself on TV)
