RFU clears trans women to keep playing domestic women's rugby in England - Absolute insanity

Transgender women will still be allowed to play women’s rugby at all non-international levels of the game in England for the foreseeable future, the Guardian can reveal, after the Rugby Football Union decided that more evidence was needed before implementing any ban.

The RFU’s position is sharply at odds with World Rugby, which last week ruled that trans women could no longer play international women’s rugby after a major review of the latest science concluded that the risk of “significant injury” was “too great”.

World Rugby’s new transgender guidelines do, however, allow national unions to exercise “flexibility” in determining their transgender rules. The RFU believes that more work is needed to assess the science, as well as investigating whether there are safe ways to allow trans women to keep playing the sport they love, rather than ban them from the domestic game. This position, it is understood, is supported by a number of other countries, including the US and Canada.

The RFU told the Guardian that while it welcomed World Rugby’s work on this “complex subject which invokes many strong opinions” the organisation did not support all the global governing body’s conclusions.

Australia, Canada, the US also are doing the same to allow males who identify as women to play in the women's rugby teams. Though at the World cup, the 6 nations they will be rightly banned. This is placing inclusion over fairness and safety in women's sports, There is no evidence that reducing testosterone mitigates the advantages of male puberty over 12 months. In fact 11 studies all correlate and prove this is the case. That the advantages are not mitigated

This is the insane world we now live in and Cycling has made the same trans inclusive policy for trans women in women's sports.

Thankfully the the government is funding a new centre for integrity in sport. Is looking to start an inquiry into the risks of trans inclusion in women's sport

it will lead to women's sports being dominated by what are in essence men.
The risk of injury in contact sports should outweigh any attempt to appease a very small minority yet common sense does not shine through with some.

Equality gone mad.

They continue to play for men's teams or find enough people to play in their own league.

Women had to form their own league and work for recognition, what's wrong with a trans team.

Exactly, you make the male category an open category

The protected category of women has to remain a protected category

The introduction of males, renders this a mixed sex category and thus creates inequality for females in sport

Maybe some people have to realise that in life you cant have it all.

you play sports according to the gender you were actually born, the basics if you had a penis at birth, growing up your a man, if you had a vagina you are a woman, it's quite simple when you take lefty idiocy out of it.

Women and some men have had to work very hard to enable females to participate in sports at all, then came the fight for recognition and to be taken seriously, now everything is going to fall apart if trans women are allowed to participate with non trans women. Society tries hard to accommodate people in all walks of life but sometimes its a step too far for the majority. A Syl says none of us can have it all, especially at someone else expense.

The simple way to look at this is through why we have 4 protective categories in sport

Age
Sex
weight
Disabilities

These were brought about because there was an inequality within sports

These categories seek to provide equality within sports for people that are disadvantaged.

Hence saying some mediocre males can compete with women in sports, if they identify as women. Means many females lose out. Thus rendering the reason for the sports category of women in the first place redundent

It does not matter whether or not a male that identifies as a woman wins or not. We disqualify people for taking sports enhancing illegal drugs even if they do not win. Because these drugs are an unfair advantage

The effects of male puberty are an unfair advantage compared to women

2000 boys in the US alone, can beat the world record of women in the 100 meters sprint

That means no female would even qualify for the Olympics, if we based this on gender identity
