Ban on "offensive" chanters lifted for Milan Derby
Inter Milan will have their hardcore "ultra" supporters present for Sunday's Milan derby after the Italian Football Federation's (FIGC) Court of Justice suspended a partial stadium closure while it carries out further investigations.
AS Roma will also have their most vocal fans present when they host Catania on Sunday after a similar suspension was lifted for the same reason.
"The Inter and Roma curvas have been reopened with an interim ordinance suspending the penalty and asks for further investigations to be carried out by the Federal Prosecutor's Office," wrote the FIGC (www.figc.it) on its website on Friday.
The FIGC had announced on Tuesday the two-match section closures following incidents of alleged offensive chanting by away fans during matches last weekend.

What, so the ban only applies when it's not a big game?

You are right Ben. It is truly shocking that offensive chants should be heard at a sporting venues and we in Scotland are subjected to that almost every single week with sectarian chants and singing ringing out from the football terraces. Close the grounds where it happens for the next match and keep doing so until it stops.

Sounds like commerce trumping decency (I'm so shocked!)
Never really thought about the chants ringing through neighborhoods, though! I imagine this happens throughout Europe.
Here in the U.S. (probably Australia too) there's so much open space that this is how most of our stadiums are situated:

It's bad as it sets a terrible example for the kids at the match.
