Corporations hiring spies to take on non profits

Corporations have had a long record of spying on each other, on various people and places of interest, even governments and government departments, since well before WWII...

"Industrial espionage" and the theft of corporate information, other people's ideas and inventions, and gaining "insider" info' about various persons and agencies, is right at the core of what make's many "corporations" what they are 'at heart', helping to differentiate them from more regular smaller companies, sole traders and community groups, in general..

Down here, the biggest offenders among the corporates would undoubtedly have to be the mining, gas, finance/banking, agribusiness and large industrial concerns ~ so it wouldn't surprise any serious observers to hear about them extending their 'corporate spying' into various activist and community groups. The more savvy organisers from many "non profit" organisations, (and NGO's as well), would have been expecting these developments as "just a matter of time !" since the 1970's or early '80s at least..
