Gosh, good band albums on vinyl must be worth a fortune. My Dad still has the Planet Suite on vinyl but unfortunately it's very scratched.... It would have sounded great in good condition.

30 years on I have yet to forgive my mother for selling MY ALBUMS when we were moving to England. I had first edition Pink Floyd, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Monkees, Greatful Dead,Doors, Joplin., Hendrix, Eagles etc.....I still want to scream when I think about it.

Oh noes!
A singing teacher I know says that the one pop/rock band she really rates is Pink Floyd, because she can see the musical principles behind their song-writing, to a point she thinks they'd have been composers of classical music had they lived in the eighteenth century.

I totally get that. the conception of their albums to include all components is sheer genius.....how the whole comes together - reminds me of Beethoven's symphonies.
