Our border force is now bringing in illegal immigrants from french waters

Reports that a Border Force ship entered French waters and took on board migrants from a UK-bound dinghy are being investigated by the Home Office.

A radio conversation was recorded in which a Border Force officer asked a French ship for permission to get the group, The Daily Mail reported.

The migrants were then reportedly brought to Dover last Saturday.

A Home Office spokesman said: "We are urgently investigating the circumstances behind this incident."

Lucy Moreton, from the Immigration Services Union, said she had no first-hand knowledge of the incident, but there had apparently been no threat to life.

She said if the UK vessel had crossed into French waters, apparently with permission, it still would not have been appropriate.

Ms Moreton said it was a common tactic for migrants to threaten to throw someone overboard if a French vessel came too close, because migrants knew if they were picked up by a UK ship they were "as good as here".

Several hundred migrants have made the crossing in the past week alone. Border Force dealt with four boats carrying 83 people on Friday.

So far this year there have been more than 4,000 arrivals, a trend that could see this year's numbers outstrip last year's total of about 8,500.

We need to force the African Union to take the Africans back and the Arab League to take back the middle easterns.

Neither the African Union nor the Arab League have the mission or the jurisdiction to do what you suggest. Their mandates (as reflected on their web pages) are:

African Union: “Promotes Africa’s growth and economic development by championing citizen inclusion and increased cooperation and integration of African states.”

Arab League: “The League of Arab States (or Arab League) is a loose confederation of twenty-two Arab nations whose broad mission is to improve coordination among its members on matters of common interest.”

Since neither have any territory on which to dump people, it would be pounding sand. Try Taco Bell or Burger King…they might need minimum-wage workers.

We could make them do it under threat of withdrawing aid.

Does the African Union or Arab League receive foreign funding? The African Union relies on the yearly contributions from 55 member countries and support from bilateral and multilateral donors to finance its operational costs, programs and peace support operations. I imagine the Arab League does the same, only with much more oil-income resources.

I doubt there is any negative incentive that you could impose on either the AU or the AL to make them undertake your bidding.

That doesn't mean you have to accept every asylum claim, or even most of them.

It seems to me that the border isn't the problem, it's the asylum application process. Perhaps the countries of Europe, and maybe some others as well, should come up with some sort of international asylum system to better manage the flood of asylum seekers.

The United States could certainly do a lot better than it has been doing.

Most of these claims can be made in the home country as easily as they are at some border. I understand that some folks need to flee persecution and can't wait around, but most of the folks crashing a border don't fall into that category.

The US led the world in number of refugees until Trump took over. Even then we were second. I imagine we will be back to first under Biden.

I seem to remember European countries taking in a lot more Syrian asylum seekers during the rise of ISIS than Obama ever accepted. But yeah, of course Trump didn't want them.

The problem with armchair quarterbacking asylum seekers is that you can't. We don't know their stories, full stop.

Because we take them from other countries..

We take a lot of asylum seekers that petition for asylum while staying in their own country.

Those folks don't make the news because they aren't forcing someone's hand at a border.

If you are genuinely fleeing war and/or persecution and your life is in imminent danger then you get to the nearest safe place and that is job done... You don't use this as an excuse to travel half way round the world through numerous safe countries, and onto a destination of your preferred choice where you think you might most like to live and where you think might be the best place for your future economic self benefit!!!


We should remove all these bullshitters and illegal economic immigrants to wherever they originated from!!!


I would even be happy for them to be airdropped back there!


The more who come and are allowed to come and stay, the ever more increasing numbers will come in future... And not only is it a real serious threat to our national security and risk to our own people... But it is the same UK people who are having to pay the costs of their upkeep and legal costs for them being here too!!!


This charade should have been stopped years ago!!!
