Forget about the name change for a second. Or that this is the final era for gas-powered Vs. Let's first live in the now and revel in the fact that the most powerful Cadillac ever is offered with a manual transmission. That's right, the CT5-V Blackwing's 668-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 comes standard tethered to a six-speed Tremec TR6060 gearbox from the Camaro.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a35383882/2022-cadillac-ct5-v-blackwing-revealed/?utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=socialflowFBCD&utm_medium=social-media&src=socialflowFBCAD

The last Caddy with a fire breathing V8 and this one will push 200mph.

I know we need to save the planet, blah, blah, blah but this makes me sad.

It's a little pricey, but if I had to replace my truck today it would be close to 50K. Damn vehicles are expensive as hell which is why so many people lease them now.

Shocked

50 K for a truck. Is that in ££ or $$...either way, it's a lot.

I paid 45 grand for a top of the range Range Rover last January (knowing it would most likely be my last vehicle).... and was promptly locked down and forced to abandon all the lovely journeys my partner and I had planned for our winter years!

My truck is above (2017 model). It's cheap for a full sized truck.

We have $80,000 trucks here.

Trucks are also the best selling vehicle here.

Anyone who spends a lot of money on a machine that simply gets them from point A to point B is a complete knob.

I think we should bring back the era of horse-drawn wagons! I'm sure a lot of people mourned when it ended, now a new generation can discover the thrills of mushing a team of horses to flee a band of marauders ... I don't know wagons.

Seriously, though, there will be engineers who come up with electric car engines that will impress people who drive for fun. I imagine Elon Musk has put a fair bit of thought into this, and surely there will be many more to come.

People own horses that cost more than many cars. They haven't entirely left.

I thought you used to live in Texas? Cool

The Tesla is fast as balls, especially in insane mode. 0-100, it can hang with a Ferrari.

That doesn't mean folks won't be nostalgic about a 66 GTO, with 4 speed manual and a triple deuce carb with a cam that makes the V8 lope. Smile

With today's population? We would be wading through a sea of horseshit.

As opposed to the human excrement littering the streets of San Francisco?
