Department of Justice says Yale discriminates against whites and Asians

The US government says Yale University is illegally discriminating against white and Asian-American applicants.

The results of a two-year investigation by the Department of Justice found the Ivy League university had breached civil rights law in its undergraduate admissions process.

The department threatened to file a lawsuit against the university if it failed to take "remedial" measures.

A Yale spokeswoman said the university "categorically" denied the accusations.

President Donald Trump's administration has been a strong opponent of so-called affirmative action.

The programmes, which were supported by former President Barack Obama, seek to boost admissions of under-represented minorities, particularly Hispanics and African-Americans..

The Department of Justice's report, published on Thursday, said that while the Supreme Court allows universities that receive taxpayer funding to use race as "one of a number of factors" during admissions, "Yale's use of race is anything but limited".

"Yale uses race at multiple steps of its admissions process resulting in a multiplied effect of race on an applicant's likelihood of admission," it said.

Of course they do. Asians are discriminated against worse here. Mixed race asians know to use white as their race on many school applications.

And yet if you bring this up, people start blabbering about the myth of the good minority.

It's no myth. Asians outperform white folks in education. They outperform blacks to even a greater degree.

It's almost like there might be something cultural going on here?

No surprise. Yale University, with Stanford University, are the two most conservative private higher learning institutions in the nation.

The law was settled in Regents of the University of California, v. Allan Bakke, 438 U.S. 265 (1978). While specific racial quotas are not allowed, race may be one of several factors in college admission policy. Looks like Yale went too far.

This is all down to the idiocy of "critical race theory". Which is racist concept in itself through identity politics

Its easy to understand why certain groups like the Chinese and Jewish groups excel in learning and it certainly has cultural aspects around teaching children to work and study hard

While here in the UK, the anti white lefty labour MPs and lefty media outlets are frothing at the mouth about how downgraded exam results are hitting the most 'disadvantaged' etc...


But only because in their racist minds, they automatically think of 'disadvantaged' as being a by-word to mean 'black/brown' people...


I wonder if they would be making such a fuss if they realised that the overwhelming vast majority of 'disadvantaged' kids in this country are actually white British boys of working class backgrounds...!!!???


They are deliberately misrepresenting this as being a slight against black/brown kids... When the truth is that it is the white British boys and girls from working class areas who are getting discriminated against here!!!

I think you are looking along old-line economic thinking, of the Fabian-Socialist mindset. Racial theory is not economic theory.

Racism begins when explorers stretch out, with the expectation that there are riches in the world, and begin to realize that beasts-of-burden can be a part of providing those riches. Thus, capturing a Negroid is no different than capturing an elephant, or an oxen.

When suddenly it dawns on Englishmen that these are humans, like them, the conflict percolates into, not taking advantage of riches, but slavery, and ultimately racism. Thus: if they are like us, aren’t we doing that to us???

That is the origin of both racism and the anti-racism movement. Now, America’s problem is different from the British problem. America has to undo 400-years of slavery, and southern attempts to frustrate recovery from slavery (in response to having lost the Civil War). Y’all Brits don’t have a history of slavery/racism to frustrate your attempts at equality, and you look at racism as an existential mathematical equation. I don’t wonder that you look at whites and blacks at an equal starting gate.

But, in America, the starting gate is waaaay behind for blacks as compared to whites, due to southern attempts to hold blacks back. We have a history of southerners holding blacks back. Until America can erase that history, it cannot say that blacks have achieved equality.
