"Prof Edmunds said "poor" data back in March made it hard to "pull the trigger.. but I wish we had, I wish we had gone into lockdown earlier. I think that has cost a lot of lives, unfortunately.”

The bit you conveniently ignore is above......the govt can only act on the advice it is given, the advice was lacking and at the time contradictory.....as soon as the advice came they locked down,,,,Do not expect the PM or cabinet to be scientists.......

Sweden seems to have done a bit of stumbling as well, I'm sure al lot of countries wish they had done things differently.
