Residents at Portland group home call 911 when goat holds them hostage

PORTLAND, Ore. — A 911 call was made in Portland over a goat.

911 Operator: Do you know where it came from?

Caller: The farm down the street by the middle school.

911 Operator: Are you unable to get it out of your house?

Caller: Yeah. It’s trying to head-butt me and everything. I live in a group home. I need police to help wrangle a goat.

The goat in question escaped from Rossie Farms near Parkrose Middle School and wandered into a group home.

There, he started head-butting the residents. They had to barricade themselves in a room and called police for help.

"Being a police officer for 20 years, you see and go to a lot of calls, and see a lot of crazy things," said Eric Zajac with the Portland Police Bureau. "When I first saw this, and heard it on the radio, I didn’t think it was real."

Police came and wrangled him out. He was given a police escort off of the property.

Goats can be assholes. The solution to that is eating them, assuming they are still young.

Goats and sheep can 'bully' children, with their head butting and barging, even nipping at them...

Doesn't say much for any adults, though, if they can't handle one stroppy goat..

My late wife was once cornered by a rather large and aggressive baboon in the corner of our hotel garden in Kenya. I heard her screaming like a banshee and, like the gallant gentleman that I am, rushed to her aid.

Threatened by my trusty hiking pole, the aforesaid baboon shrugged its shoulders and shuffled off in defeat - but not before I noticed that it had an enormous erection!

I can only hope that was caused by my late wife and not by myself.....

I agree with Wolfie. Goats are no match.

My father had a small ranch in the Napa Valley, and when I was young I would spend summers there. We had goats, and they were fun to ride. They bucked, but in smaller leaps. I don't know anyone who could stay on.

But as a threat, pshaw...just push them aside.
